On Monday May 31,1999 Roy Bowman died at the age of 65 in Edson. He had been diagnosed with cancer just weeks before. His funeral was on June 4,1999 inEdson. That evening there was a get together at Phyliss Roberto's place consisting of the bowman family; Pat Bowman , Teresa Kuchinsky, Jeanette Bowman, Vivian Moran, Charlotte Bowman and Tony Bowman. Also present were A.J. Andonia and Phyliss Roberto, Bruce,Lori and Justine Roy, Nancy and Geneva Bowman, Jay, Gabriel, Mikayla and Georgia Kuchinsky, Jerry, and others.
